The Alpha Course

The Alpha Supper is an evening of good food, fine wine, and live music. There will be a two course meal with an introductory talk to the Alpha Course, the subject will be, "Christianity; boring, untrue and irrelevant?" This is a fantastic opportunity to bring your friends to church. The atmosphere will be informal and it is a chance to meet new people. There will be opportunities to ask questions, to explore the meaning of life and to sign up for the Alpha Course

The Alpha Course is a series of meetings for those who are interested in finding out more about Jesus and the meaning of life. The meetings are informal and relaxed, beginning with some food, followed by a brief talk and discussion time around the table. People will have the opportunity to share questions, express their opinions and share their ideas without fear of being criticised or judged.

What the papers say

Due to its huge success worldwide, the Alpha course has received a lot of media attention. Here are a couple of things the papers in the UK had to say about it.

Alpha is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed setting over a number of thought-provoking weekly sessions, with a day or weekend away. What Alpha offers, and what is attracting thousands of people, is permission, rare in secular culture, to discuss the big questions - life and death and their meaning. - The Guardian
What distinguishes Alpha from other initiatives is the easy-going, relaxed feel of the proceedings - that, and its astonishing success. - The Times
