Who We Are
The church began in 1993 when Jeremy and Elaine Cook were called by God to start a Vineyard church in the city of Hull. The journey began with a small group of Christians meeting mid-week in a home group style meeting, evolving to bi-monthly Sunday meetings and eventually to the format we have now of regular Sunday morning and evening services, home groups, outreach groups, discipleship groups and many other events.
Our vision is to see the Kingdom of God grow in size and influence in the city of Hull. We believe this will come about as a direct result of the work of the Holy Spirit - in our lives as well as in the lives of the un-churched in the City. Specifically, we feel called to:
Worship God and communicate His love and power to the least the lost and the lonely, bring truth and freedom into the lives of a generation searching for purpose, to nurture and equip them to serve God.
This has determined the shape of the church, in so far as worship - both musically and the way we live our loves are very important to us. We believe in excellence of worship leading, not just performance, we believe in offering everything we do as an act of worship to God. You will see this reflected in the length of time we devote to singing to the Lord during the service and for example in the professionalism we aim to bring to our children's ministry. For us worship extends beyond singing and we offer our while lives to God - the things we do in private as well as in public
